This is it, the finnish weather! Last night was cloudy, so I re-processed the image using Ha also as a luminance channel.



IC 1805 Heart nebula. Total exposure of 3 h 20 min (Ha 80 OIII 60 and SII 60 min.) Sky-Watcher 80 ED, Aitk 314L+, William Optics 0,8x reducer/flattener and Heq5 mount.

NGC 6960

30th september there was finally clear sky... :) NGC 6960 Witch Broom Nebula is the western part of the Veil Nebula. 60:20:20:20 min. SW80ED, Atik 314L+, Baader UHC and RGB -filters.

Coronado PST hydrogen-alpha solarscope

Coronado PST ready to use...



My brand new Coronado PST hydrogen-alpha solarscope in it´s carrying case. The narrowband filter within the Coronado solarscope isolates a specific bandwidth of light called hydrogen-alpha. This allows to view the Sun´s cromosphere. Prominences, filaments, active regions, plages, sunspots and flares are all able to see by this solarscope.

Jupiter 25. jan. 2011. This is my first picture captured by Orion SSAG b/w camera and Videos Sky 2011 program. Seeing was poor and planet near horizon, so the picture is not very good, but this was more testing than serious astrophotography. 46 frames stacked by Registax 5. Orion SSAG, SW 200/1000 newtonian reflector, 2x barlow, Baader IR/UV cut filter and HEQ5 mount.

Moon 15. jan. 2011. It was cold (-23 c) but clear winter evening, when I took this Moon-picture.



In this image, I tried to enhance colors by using Photoshop's saturation-tool. Not very good, because probably the aligning problem when I was stacking the frames by Registax 5 makes Moon's north pole look green...
